My Story...
I had to choose between four awkward photos. This particular school photo was from the sixth grade. During one of those awkward years I had gone back to school shopping and chose some colorful underwear with very large red strawberries printed in the fabric. As I was changing in the gym locker room I drew a very giggly crowd as the other girls gathered around in their white or pastel colored panties and laughed at me. After the excitement died down one of the girls closer to me who was a friend leaned over and said, “I wish I had the guts to wear underwear like that”. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but realize now that I am and have always been a free spirit and strive now to stand out in a crowd and not be a follower. It’s okay to be different. Let your light shine. Things will change, people change, your body will change. In the words of a very fun and colorful fish, “Just keep swimming!”
