My Story...
My name is Chelsea Bianca Goulet, I’m currently 16 years old. On the left, I’m roughly 8 years old. I definitely wasn’t the most popular kid in school, and to say the least, that hasn’t changed much. The kids at school used to call me a teacher’s pet, nerd, ugly, buck teeth, and the girls used to tell me I needed to shave because I was ‘too hairy’. I hit puberty at the age of ten, and I was teased because no one in my grade had yet. I developed faster and I was extremely awkward and self conscious. I didn’t have a lot of friends to turn to and it was hard to overcome the awkwardness. But that was then. Instead of letting that get to me, I stood up for myself. I’m proud of who I am, then and now. You can’t let name calling and bullying get to you, no matter what age you are. It’s hard but it’s even harder to sit back and take all the harsh words and know you’re doing nothing to stop it. You have to be proud of yourself and do what’s best for yourself, not because others tell you to. I made the best of what I had. I’m now an International Baccalaureate student and striving in the fine arts music program at my school . So here’s to the pieces of my awkward past and cheers to everything the future holds for me.
Chelsea, you’re a gorgeous girl- inside and out! Good for you for being able to move past the ignorant and bullying comments and be the beautiful person you are. I had to read your story since my youngest daughter is also a ‘Chelsea’ now living and teaching music in Calgary. We need more beautiful spirits like you to enrich our lives with your talents. Good luck in your schooling and musical career!
