My Story...
I was born with short hair. In first grade, before my dad took me to school, he took me to get haircut, even thought my hair was short enough. When I walked in the class, some boy shouted that I looked like a boy and the whole boys laughed. I started to cry. I often get confused as a boy. No one can tell by the earrings and clothes. In fourth grade, my hair was growing til my mom gave me another haircut. I refused to come to school because I will be teased again. In fifth grade, it was growing. In middle school, I have been called ugly and that’s because I had ugly curly hair. Before I started seventh grade, Doris made get another haircut. It looked bad. It was even worse in eight grade because I been called ugly everyday. In high school, it was growing so I learned to straighten it and I wore make up. I been teased and bullied because I had short hair. I pray every night for pretty, long hair. I dreamed of being popular with a good looking boyfriend. I try not to think about how bad I looked in short hair. If people talk about it, I will ignore it. That was 15 years ago and I don’t care what anyone else things. All I care about are my goals and I won’t let anyone take that away from me.
